The Husband Was Thrilled to Open His Wife’s “Giant Gift” in Front of the Guests — Until He Saw What Was Inside: Annulment Papers and Photos of His Mistress

Dave’s 40th birthday celebration was lavish, combined with his fifth wedding anniversary with his wife, Carla. They had rented the entire Grand Ballroom of the Manila Hotel, filled with business partners, relatives, and friends dressed in elegant formalwear.

Dave was confident—handsome, wealthy, and completely at home in the spotlight. To him, life was perfect.

What most people didn’t know was that he was hiding a huge secret.

He had a mistress—a model named Yassi.

And he was certain Carla didn’t know. In his mind, she was quiet, patient, the “martyr” type who would never dare confront him.

“Okay, everyone!” the host announced enthusiastically.
“This is the moment we’ve all been waiting for—the special gift from Mrs. Carla for our birthday boy!”

The guests cheered and applauded. The large doors opened, and four waiters rolled in an enormous box wrapped in gold paper with a giant red ribbon. It was nearly as tall as a person.

Dave grinned.

“Wow, Hon! You really went all out! What is this? A massage chair? Or maybe the keys to a new Ducati?”

The guests laughed.

“Open it! Open it!” people shouted.

Carla stepped up to the microphone. She was wearing an elegant red gown. She looked stunning—but there was something unusual about her smile.

“Dave,” she said sweetly,
“I know you love surprises. So I really thought carefully about this gift. Tonight, I want you to be free to do everything you want.”

“Wow! I love you, Hon!” Dave shouted, kissing Carla on the cheek.

Full of excitement, he tore open the wrapping.

Riiip!

“What could this be?” he thought.

A motorcycle? A golf set? Some luxury gadget?

He removed the cover. The front of the box dropped open.

And then—

Dave’s smile disappeared.

His eyes widened.

A chill ran through his entire body.

There was no motorcycle.
No massage chair.

Inside the box was a large styrofoam board covered with photographs.

— Photos of Dave and Yassi kissing in Boracay
— Photos of them entering a motel together
— Screenshots of their explicit messages to each other

And in the center, pinned clearly for everyone to see, was a thick legal document stamped with a court seal:

PETITION FOR ANNULMENT OF MARRIAGE

The entire ballroom fell silent.

A deafening silence.

The photos were large enough for the guests in front to see clearly.

“Oh my God…” Dave’s mother whispered.
“That’s Yassi…”

Whispers spread through the crowd. Some guests discreetly pulled out their phones and began recording. A reputation was slowly being destroyed in front of everyone.

Dave’s hands trembled as he turned to Carla.

“C-Carla…” he stammered.
“We can talk about this… at home…”

Carla faced him. The sweetness was gone. Her voice was firm and clear.

“Talk about it?”

“I’ve known for a year, Dave. A full year. I endured everything while gathering evidence—while you were being sweet to me… and to her.”

Carla took the microphone and turned to the guests.

“You said you wanted a Ducati,” she said calmly.
“Sorry, that’s not the gift I chose.”

She looked at the photos inside the box.

“My gift to you is what you’ve wanted most…”

“Your freedom—to be with your women without hiding anymore.”

She smiled—a smile filled with courage and dignity.

“Happy Anniversary, Dave. I’m setting you free.
You are now officially… single.”

She dropped the microphone.

THUD.

She turned and walked out of the ballroom with her head held high—steady, composed, like a queen who knew her worth.

Dave was left standing on the stage beside his “gift,”
while his business partners shook their heads,
his mother nearly fainted from shame,
and the name he had spent years building—

collapsed in just five minutes.
