Returning home after a late shift, the wife was stunned to find her husband sleeping soundly with her sister. She sat quietly, waiting for a satisfactory result.
Maria walked into the house, her high heels gently hitting the oak floor. It was ten o’clock at night, but the atmosphere at the Forbes Park villa in Makati was unusually quiet. She had just finished a late shift at St. Luke’s Hospital, exhausted but trying to keep a smile. It was their tenth wedding anniversary, and she had prepared a special gift for her husband – a Patek Philippe watch with their names engraved on it. But the silence at home stopped her. There was no TV, no husband calling from the kitchen, only a strange stranger crawling into his heart.

She dropped her handbag, took off her outer robe, and quietly climbed the stairs. The bedroom door opened slightly, a faint yellow light seeping through. Maria pushed the door open, and the sight in front of her made her heart stop. Her husband, Juan Miguel, was lying on the bed, hugging a strange woman. They were both fast asleep, unconscious. A thin blanket slipped down, revealing the woman’s bare shoulders. Their breathing was steady; they were like lovers lost in a sweet dream.

Maria stood motionless, her hand gripping the doorknob. An outburst of anger enveloped her, but strangely, she did not scream or cry. A cold silence prevailed. She turned around, went down to the living room, picked up a carefully carved narra chair, and brought it back into the room. She placed the chair by the bed, facing the two sleeping figures. Silently, she sat up, arms crossed, her eyes fixed on them… Maria sat motionless, her bright eyes piercing the dark room. The grandfather’s clock in the hallway was ticking, every minute that passed a sharp, sharp edge of air.

After more than an hour, Juan Miguel moved and opened his eyes. He blinked a few times, then, as if struck by lightning, saw his wife sitting right in front of him, with his back straight on the couch. Maria said nothing, just smiled slightly.

“Maha… You… are you back?” Juan Miguel said in a low voice.

Mary just tilted her head to the side, her voice soft but sharp:

“Yes. From duty. And it’s time to witness a good show.”

The woman lying next to him woke up, her face pale, hurriedly pulling the blanket to herself. Mary remained calm, took a small gift box from her handbag and placed it on the table.

“Do you know what day it is?

It’s our 10th wedding anniversary. I’ve spent the whole week engraving our names on this watch. But come on, you might want to give it to someone else.”

With that, she took out her phone and turned on the video. The entire time she sat in the chair, Maria secretly recorded the entire scene on video.

– From now on, I don’t need an explanation. My lawyer is the pound.

John Michael’s face flushed. She rushed to pick up the phone, but Maria stood up and quickly walked out of the room. Her voice echoed, every word like a prisoner

– For ten years, I have given you my whole. From now on, the rest of my life will be for myself.

The door slammed hard. In the cramped room, only Juan Miguel and his companion who were confused and struggling to breathe were left. Mary went out into the night, taking a deep breath. A smile played on his lips. Tonight she lost a husband
