It was 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Monday. The 25-year-old was climbing the stairs of the plush ‘Malhotra Mansion’ with her cleaning supplies. Suddenly, the sound of two innocent people wailing echoed throughout the house. Meera had been working in this house for three weeks, but she could not bear the pain of those children. The twins had been crying continuously for the last three hours.

Then 34-year-old businessman Arjun Malhotra appeared in the corridor. In the last few weeks, he looked 10 years older. Dark circles and disheveled hair under dark eyes. That’s when Yashoda, a 50-year-old old maid, came up to them. Yashoda was with this family for the last 20 years and used to note down every small thing in the house in an old diary.
“Sir, please get some rest,” Yashoda said sadly. “Comfort? Yashoda, how can I rest after hearing my daughters suffering like this?” Arjuna’s voice broke.
Meera was watching all this. She had lost her child a year earlier, she understood the pain of an innocent. Arjun picked up the phone with trembling hands, “Doctor, this is Arjun Malhotra speaking. My daughters’ condition is very bad… Do you mean you don’t know what to do now? I called experts from all over the world, spent millions!” Arjun angrily slammed the phone.
At 3 pm, Arjun rushed to the hospital again with the girls. There was peace in the house. Meera went upstairs to clean and entered the girls’ room. There was a mixed smell of medicines and children’s lotions. An hour and a half later, Arjun returned. “The doctors say the girls are healthy, but they can’t stop crying. ”
That’s when something happened that no one had imagined. Meera held out her hand and said, “Sir, can I take them in my lap once?”
As if someone had pressed a button, the baby stopped crying. Her swollen little eyes fixed on Meera’s face and she immediately fell asleep. Arjuna and Yashoda were stunned. What big doctors and expensive medicines could not do, Meera’s touch did.
Then the sound of heavy footsteps was heard on the stairs. It was Dr. Tanya, who had been the medical advisor of this family for the last 3 years. She was extremely disciplined and strict in appearance. When he saw Meera holding the baby girl in his arms, the smile on his face disappeared.
Tanya took Arjun outside and started provoking him, “Arjun, how can you trust a modest maid? Do you know if it’s a disease? These girls are very fragile, there may be an infection. ”
Tanya’s words sowed the seeds of doubt in Arjuna’s mind. But something else was bothering Meera. According to Yashoda’s diary, the cries of the girls increased exactly an hour after Dr. Tanya gave medicine.
Meera noticed that Tanya had been secretly mixing something in the medicine vials. In fact, Tanya was plotting a conspiracy—she wanted to be the need of Arjun by keeping the girls sick so that she could marry him.
On Thursday morning, when Arjun did not give the night medicine at Meera’s behest, the girls slept peacefully for the first time. Arjun was now beginning to have doubts. “Doctor Tanya is lying,” Mira said softly. Arjun now decides to face the truth. They took the vial of medicine that Tanya had left.
“We will check this medicine,” Arjuna said firmly. The dark clouds of intrigue were about to dissipate now.
