I had finished all the formalities and left my wife. There were only a few minutes left in the flight, and yet he told me to cancel the flight and go back to the hotel with him…

Rohit, who is a very caring husband, decides to come with me to Delhi, even though he had no work here. He said,
“I want to come to see you off, and we’ll get a chance to hang out together a little anyway.”
I was very happy with his concern and love, so I said yes.

The trip was great. My work was completed ahead of time, and we spent the entire afternoon strolling around India Gate—eating kulfi, chatting, and taking lots of memorable pictures.
In the evening, we reached the Indira Gandhi International Airport, from where our flight to Mumbai was at 9 pm. The entire check-in process was complete, and there were about 20 minutes left in boarding. Rohit and I were sitting hand in hand in the waiting area, laughing and talking.

Then suddenly Rohit looked at me. There was a strange seriousness in his eyes. She said,
“Ananya, why don’t we cancel this flight? I’d like us to stay at a nearby hotel. ”

I was stunned. I thought he was joking.
“What are you saying? Now all that is left is boarding, why cancel the flight?”

But Rohit held my hand tighter. The uneasiness in his voice was palpable.
“Ananya, trust me this time.” I’m not feeling well. The heart is very nervous. Let’s stay here tonight, we’ll take another flight tomorrow, okay?”

Now I started to worry too. Rohit didn’t usually talk like that for no reason, and there was genuine nervousness in his eyes. Even though I didn’t understand why, I obeyed.
We went to the ticket counter, got the flight cancelled citing personal reasons, and took a room in a hotel near the airport.

On the way to the hotel, I asked,
“Rohit, why is this so sudden? Is there any problem?”

He just shook his head.
“I don’t even know properly myself… But I have a feeling that this flight is not safe. I don’t want to take any risks with you. ”

We stayed at the hotel that night. We ate together, watched a movie and tried to keep ourselves normal, although I still had many questions.
As soon as I woke up the next morning, Rohit turned on the TV. The news that came out shook me to the core—the same flight we were supposed to take the previous night had suffered a serious technical glitch shortly after takeoff. The aircraft had to make an emergency landing in Bengaluru. Fortunately there were no casualties, but all the passengers were extremely nervous. If we hadn’t cancelled the flight, we would have been on the same plane.

I looked at Rohit, tears started flowing from my eyes.
“You… How did you know?”

Rohit hugged me tightly, his voice hoarse.
“I don’t know, Ananya. But sitting at the airport, I was feeling very uneasy, as if someone was warning from inside. I couldn’t have put you in danger under any circumstances. ”

I held him tighter. In that moment, I realized how lucky I was to have a husband who puts my safety above all else.

The next day, we took another flight back to Mumbai—safe and quiet.
After that incident, I learned to trust Rohit’s intuition, and began to value his love even more. That canceled flight is still the most memorable event of our marriage—a reminder that sometimes a sudden decision can save a lifetime.
