THE OLD BEGGAR ASKED FOR WATER AT A MANSION BUT WAS CHASED AWAY, HE WAS WELCOMED INTO THE HUT NEXT DOOR… AND THERE THE LIVES OF THE FAMILY WHO HELPED CHANGED (Continued)

A week passed.

There was a commotion at Villa Esmeralda.

A convoy of luxurious cars arrived.

Donya Vina rushed out, thinking it was for her.

But the cars drove past her…

And stopped in front of Mang Pedring’s hut.

A man in a suit got out.

Following him, Tata Selo emerged—but clean, neat, and respectable.

“T-Tay (Father)?” Mang Pedring asked in surprise.

Tata Selo approached them and spoke:

“I am Don Marcelino Zobel, the owner of the land where this mansion… and that hut are built.”

Donya Vina froze.

He was the real landlord she had never met.

“Last week, I pretended to be a beggar to find out who had the heart to help…”

He turned to Donya Vina:

“Your lease contract ended yesterday… and I WILL NOT RENEW IT.”

Donya Vina turned pale.

Don Marcelino faced Mang Pedring and his family:

“When I was thirsty, you gave me water.

When I was hungry, you split your food with me.

You proved that you don’t need to be rich to be kind.”

He took out a land title.

“From this day forward, this entire land is yours…

And so is Villa Esmeralda.”

Aling Nena and Mang Pedring knelt down, weeping.

Donya Vina nearly fainted.

“The big house suits you because you have a big heart,” Don Marcelino said.

“And you, Vina… I’ll give you one week to vacate the mansion.”

From then on, the hut that could barely fit three people…

was replaced by a mansion whose doors never closed to those who were thirsty and in need.

Even a small act of kindness can change the destiny of an entire family.
