An eight-year-old boy was running down the street, hurrying to get to school. He was late for math class and was already thinking about how the teacher, with a stern face, would scold him again – for being late or for an unclear answer. He couldn’t bear those moments of humiliation. And now, to add to it, the elevator broke down, delaying him even further.
“He’s going to scream again… He’s going to call me lazy again… He thought as he crossed the road at full speed.
Suddenly his eyes fell on a gray car parked on the curb. In the passenger seat was a small boy, about the same age as his brother. The boy was crying, banging on the window with his fists and calling for help in a loud voice. His cheeks were red and he was breathing heavily. It was clearly very hot inside the car. No adults were in sight.
The boy froze. Two emotions were struggling with him: the fear of being late for an important class—and the horror of seeing this little boy, whose condition was clearly deteriorating. He thought of his brother, “What if that was my brother and no one helped him?… »
Without hesitating for a second, he picked up a large rock from the floor and hit the window with all his might. The glass shattered and the car alarm went off. He carefully put his hand in and pulled out the crying child.
A few minutes later, a woman came running — she was the child’s mother. Her face was filled with tears and fear. The young man immediately explained to him what had happened. The young woman thanked her daughter over and over again.
And he, wiping his hands on his shirt, sighed and continued on his journey — to school. On the way, he was just thinking about what he would say to his teacher.
As expected, the professor greeted him with great anger:
“You’re late again!” How many more times will this take? I’ll call your parents!
“But I—” he started to say, but the words got stuck in his throat.
“I don’t care what you did outside. How many times have I told you not to be late for my class? Sit down and tomorrow you will be with your parents.”
The boy sat down at his desk, but at that moment something unexpected happened 😱😢
Suddenly the door to the room opened. A woman entered from the street, accompanied by the school director. The woman spoke loudly in front of the entire class:
“Today, this boy saved my son’s life. I want to tell everyone how brave and smart he is. Not all children his age will have the same reflexes …
The class remained silent. The teacher, confused, could not say anything. The manager approached the boy and handed him a small box. Inside, there was an e-reader.
“You did the right thing,” said the director. We are all proud of you.
The teacher, pale, looked at the boy and added in a low voice:
“I’m sorry… I don’t know…
The young man wanted to say something, but at that moment he was just happy.
