“Tracing IP addresses… Bypassing firewalls… Accessing backdoor servers…” Carla muttered to herself.

On the other hand, in a condo unit in Quezon City, a group of scammers were having fun.

“Jackpot pres! Five hundred thousand! Just one click of a button!” shouted their leader, Boss Kadyo. They opened a beer and counted the money.

Kadyo was holding the laptop to transfer the money to an offshore account so that it would not be recovered.

Suddenly…

ERROR. ACCESS DENIED.

“Huh? What?” asked Kakashi. “Lost the net?”

Suddenly, the light on their laptop screen went out. When they opened again, the background turned red. A large Skull face appeared on the screen.

Their bank accounts—not only Ramon’s, but also their millions of stolen wealth—suddenly went to zero balance.

SYSTEM LOCKDOWN INITIATED.

“Boss! I can’t control the mouse!” a staff member yelled.

“Boss! Our CCTV is outside, dead!”

“Boss! The door of our electronic lock, don’t open it! We’re trapped!”

Back to Ramon’s house.

Carla pressed ENTER emphatically.

“Gotcha,” Carla whispered.

She turned to Ramon with a frown.

“I have returned the P500,000 to our account, Ramon. All their assets have been frozen. And I have sent their GPS location to Director Santos of the NBI Cybercrime Division.”

“D-Director Santos?” asked Ramon hoarsely. “Do you know the NBI?”

Carla sighed. She closed the laptop.

“Ramon, before I became your wife and Jun-jun’s mother… I am Agent Cipher. I used to be the Head of Cybersecurity of the Intelligence Agency. I retired because I wanted a quiet life. But they moved my family.”

Carla stood up and adjusted her daster.

“Don’t worry. Our son’s operation is safe.”

On the other line, in the hideout of the scammers, they couldn’t get out. The lights were off. The system was dead.

Suddenly… BOOOOGSH!

smashed the door.

“NBI! NOTHING TO DO! DAPA!”

Boss Kadyo was late to the act. They were shocked. How were they tracked down so quickly? How was their secure server hacked?

As Kadyo was handcuffed, the NBI Director approached and looked at the criminals’ laptop. He saw the digital signature left on the screen. A small logo of “Happy Face” with a smile.

The Director smiled. “I said so. The Queen is awake again.”

At home, Ramon hugged his wife tightly. He couldn’t believe it. His wife who thought he was a simple cook and laundryman, was just a legend who could take down a syndicate with just an old laptop and wifi.

From then on, every time Carla opened her laptop, Ramon didn’t ask any more questions. She just poured her coffee, knowing that their family was safe as long as her commander’s hands were on the keyboard.
